Ebay, All the Way.

For people looking to save a few bucks on their wedding, I just wanted to recommend ebay.

We got so many things for our for very little money.

We got led night lights for our lantern pew ends (safety first kids!)

We also got stemtex (not to be confused with the popular explosive substance with a similar name) for doing the flower arranging with.

But we also got ribbon. Lots and lots of ribbon.

We got this green polyester for the cars and outside the church (bows constructed thanks to my sister and her boyfriend)

We got this lovely wide navy polysatin for the bouquets and pew ends.

And lastly my favourite. This navy and white polka dot for the buttonholes and place settings.

If you're thinking of picking up some things on ebay, I say go for it. Also, if any needs some stemtex I find myself in possession of about 10 rolls too many. It takes about a roll and a half for a wedding apparantly.

Our Invites

So as Conor has a design background it was obvious that he would design our wedding invites.

The boy loves art nouveau. We had been to Paris the year before we got engaged and loved the art nouveau furniture displayed in Musee D'Orsay, officially the best museum in Paris. Fact. Also, Conor showed me the gorgeous art nouveau subway entrances they have. I think Paris is our favourite city in the world.

We had already decided on navy and green as a colour scheme and with all these things that we loved in mind, Conor designed these invites for us. The day invites had a pouch on the left that held the RSVP card and envelope, a map from church to venue and details of accommodation for people needing to stay over night. The evening invites were the same shape but without the pockets.

(Conor designed the monogram too)

We were lucky that Conor's Mum is an expert in screen printing and we were so happy she did them for us. When we had everything ready we spent about 2 days assembling them. Double sided tape is you friend.

Suppliers
Navy waffely card - Art and Hobby Shop . The store in Newbridge gave us a great discount because we bought so much.

Navy envelopes - envelopes.co.uk Great site. Whatever you are looking for, they will have it.

Screen Printing - Eithne Deloughry O'Byrne Fantastic, well she is my mother in law. Check out her artwork on her website.

Envelope liners - B and Q Yes thats right, wallpaper, not just for walls!

Thanks to me, Conor and White Tea Photo for the pictures.

I Love Springtime

We had snow today. Yep, wet cold, white, sleety snow. I know in Ireland at the minute people are starting to enjoy summer weather and the spring flowers have almost gone but here we're only starting to see green coming back. I took this picture last weekend but these shoots are getting bigger every day.

No blooms yet but all the stores have beautiful bunches of tulips and daffodils displayed outside.

On Weddings Online recently the topic of daffodils as a bouquet flower came ip and I think this would be just stunning. Perfect for spring.

The bride was going for a yellow, grey and cream colour scheme, which I just love. This mood board is from the first ever wedding blog I started to follow and I think she does the best mood boards around. The site is Snippet and Ink and this mood board appears here.

To carry on the daffodil theme you could make a donation to the Irish cancer society in lieu of favours.
